Water Crisis Response

February 2021 brought with it a historic winter storm that left much of the state, and the South as a whole, suffering in its wake. Even more devastating than the freezing temperatures and power outages itself, the storm crippled the city of Jackson’s water system leaving countless residents without water. Now, three weeks later, many communities still lack water, suffer from low water pressure, or operate under a boil water alert. To help ease the strain on families and communities, Southern Echo has held four water distributions to date and will hold its next one on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in South Jackson off of Raymond Road at 1:00 p.m. CST.

We encourage you, if you are able, to donate knowing your donations will go straight to providing families with much needed clean drinking water as we all try to navigate through this crisis.
