About Echo Empowerment Institute

Echo Empowerment Institute is a community institute dedicated to providing marginalized and vulnerable communities with the tools, resources, and information necessary to protect their civic interests and empower them to be architects of public policy instead of objects of public policy.

Specifically, the Echo Empowerment Institute supports the efforts and activities of Southern Echo, Inc, a community-based, grassroots leadership development, education and training  organization. For the past thirty years, Southern Echo has worked for and with low-wealth, minority, marginalized, and vulnerable populations to ensure their voices are heard and their interests are protected. Southern Echo works in the areas of Education Equity, Youth and Adult Leadership, Voting and Voting Rights, Census and Redistricting, Health Equity, and Energy Democracy.
